Larry Torrence opened Uncle Larry’s Restaurant in March 2013, after his wife, Terilynn and other family members kept encouraging him to cook. He is the designated fish fryer at all their family reunions. Uncle Larry’s Restaurant offers pork chops, hot dogs, fried okra, fried green tomatoes, chili, turnip greens, macaroni and cheese and homemade desserts, but Torrence’s claim to fame is fried fish. Catfish, whiting and tilapia are all on the menu.

UNCLE Larry’s was recommended by a friend. It was absolutely fantastic. I had the catfish and my husband had the variety platter. The fried green tomatoes, turnip greens, fried okra and white beans were amazing! They are NOT afraid of giving big portions... huge pieces of fish! Took leftovers home but had to share a blackberry cobbler. Definitely my favorite seafood restaurant!! We will be back!!!
It's unusual for me to eat at the same Mom&Pop style restaurant when I'm traveling, but now that I've found Uncle Larry's, I don't think I'll be eating anywhere else. To say it was amazing is an understatement.
I have only lived in Chattanooga for 2 years now but today I experienced the best place to eat in Chattanooga hands down. The staff is phenomenal and Terri was wonderful to talk to. They make you feel like family from the time you walk in the door! Not only is the fish amazing but those greens......AMAZING!!
